PHP 5.2 really required?

Description

Has anyone tried this in 5.1 to verify the 5.2 requirement? We're finding a lot of modules which claim a 5.2 requirement don't actually need it to function properly. Unfortunately, a lot of folks are still stuck with 5.1.x because some of the major distributions (I'm looking at you, RedHat) have refused to release updated packages. I know there are alternative packages available, but using them will invalidate our support contracts.

The major cutoff point of Nice Map is the availability of the SimpleXML library, which is included in PHP 5.0.1 and beyond. As such, there probably isn't a strict requirement even for PHP 5.1, but we simply haven't tested with many versions of PHP. Feel free to add more information to this ticket so that we can update the README if you test with different versions of PHP.

.. running with 5.2 as the default recommendation for nice map.
