So, I installed Organic Groups thinking it was the solution to my problem, but it turns out it will not help me out.

I have this awful Navigation block on my site now that has no groups in it. I have made sure there is no content associated to the OG module, but it still appears, with a link to "Groups" I did a few searches, but found nothing on how to remove it. Is my only option to uninstall/disable the entire OG module to get rid of the block? I'd rather not hide it in the Region settings.

Thanks

Ok, aside from CSS, are there any other methods beside uninstalling it?

admin/build/block/list and disable the block in question

I wish it were that easy. The block is the "Navigation" block, which is not only the block showing "Groups", but it is also the navigation for the admin of the site( My account, Create content, Administer, and Log out). For some reason, even after deselecting all of the Organic groups, uninstalling Organic groups from my Drupal.....it still shows Group. If someone is not logged in, then it will not show all of the admin links, like create content, but regardless it will always show "Groups". Is this a bug in Organic Groups that it cannot be removed?

Don't disable the 'Navigation' block since it holds most of important menus. If you want to disable the "Groups" Menu item, then just go to admin/build/menu-customize/navigation and just customize which menu links to display at the navigation block.
