I'm developing three sites on my PC, and subdomains are a very effective way of keeping things simple for the programmer. However, reCAPTCHA doesn't recognize subdomains of localhost as with ordinary domains. Fortunately, my sites are in subdirectories of the normal webroot and so I can test the CAPTCHA that way. But this restriction is arbitrary and unnecessary, and I think the subdomain code should be generalized to localhost.

Apologies, I didn't check what Drupal is before submitting this. I just assumed it's a code host rather than a web application. Closing.
