Is it possible to use the Taxonomy Access Control module if you're using freetagging?

For instance: I've got three vocabularies:

  • Sections - this is the 'big' category for posts on my website.
  • Access - this is the vocabulary that determines who can access the content. Currently has two nodes, 'Private' and 'Public'.
  • Descriptors - this is the free tagging vocabulary. Users can enter anything they want.

I installed the 4.7.0 TAC module. I figured out how to restrict and grant access to nodes based on roles. I ran into a problem when a user added a new term in the free tagging vocabulary. That tag now shows up in the list of vocabulary to allow. I tried to check the 'Default' button in the free tagging's vocabulary, but it doesn't seem to have affected much. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
