Would be nice to try how it works with different effects for changing active tab

  • simple fade out - fade in

    • Probably more smooth and userfriendly

  • fade with direction - or slide

    • Old tab fades out and moves left, new one fades in and moves right.
    This has smoothness of simple fade + UX effect to indicate origin of tabbed content.
    Something like this is implemented in Hierarchical Select module - works very nice to emphasize an hierarchy

You can add them yourself as a separate module, but as we'd prefer to keep this as much of a straight-backport of the D7 functionality as possible (as well as not slow it down with effects), I don't think this should be added to the module.
