Alternative frontpage layouts ?!

Hello,
Is there any alternative way for displaying the content on the frontpage?! Instead of having the trimmed content, is it possible to show only the titles of the nodes inside a table (resembling Joomla) in frontpage ?! Is there any module that takes care of this?!

you can also build a custom page-front.tpl.php and build the front page to suit.

Panels module
If you're comfortable with some basic php Blackened Blue suggestion provides you with lots of flexibility.
Another option is the Panels module and setting the panel you create to be your home page at Administer -> Site configuration -> Site Information (at the bottom) Panels 3 has an impressive layout designer that you can use to create very flexible layouts.
