Description

up to now i've been pleasantly suprised by drupals usability and ease of setup (considering I'm not a developer).

i have however hit a stumbling block with the payment gateway installation. my client really wants to use WorldPay and after looking through numerous posts i can't seem to find any information about whether or not the UC WorldPay module (http://drupal.org/project/uc_worldpay) actually works, or more imortantly if it works without any additional development work.

obviously to create an IMA (internet merchant account) costs a bit to setup so not to waste my clients money i would really like to find out:

1) does this module actually work and is any additional development required (other than configuring apache server for SSL)
2) if anyone knows how a can test this module without incurring any costs or even better if someone can actually tell me their experince in setting this up?

any info is appreciated, hopefully this is simpler than it seems to me?

my setup: localhost, drupal 6.x.x, php 5.x.x, mySql 5.x.x using WAMP if that makes any difference

THANKS

As far as I know, the ubercart fork of the worldpay module doesn't work. best to check with the Ubercart team for more info. This issue queue is for the worldpay.module for Drupal eCommerce version 5.x-3.x

Based on your setup, I would recommend you checkout the new ec_worldpay.module for 6.x-4.x which will work with the new Drupal eCommerce API.

http://drupal.org/project/ec_worldpay

I ran a quick test on that module when I first submitted it and it worked fine. Also, get in touch with worldpay to setup a TEST ACCOUNT, which will allow you to run test orders through the payment gateway using dummy credit card numbers.

yep. Unless the uberart team can help you with their version of the worldpay.module.

It's very frustrating, unnecessary and a pity the ubercart team didn't approach their project in a way where users could use the same payment gateways. It's more than silly that there has to be 2 paypal/worldpay/other payment gateways for Drupal.

moving this issue to the proper queue: http://drupal.org/project/uc_worldpay

Not sure where you got this information Dub, but it does work.
I'm using it on 2 live sites without issue.

Not sure where you got this information Dub, but it does work.

It was based on discussions with you, Alan and other Drupallers who were having problems with it and got in touch with me looking for help....hence my suggestion that dil_lib checks with the Ubercart team for more info.

Thats the problem with forks Alan....it would be much simpler if there was one payment gateway for Drupal rather than two. People get confused and as an example dil_lib posted his query on the original worldpay.module module issue queue, rather than the uc_worldpay issue queue.

Good to know that it's working now, though.

I'm not in a good place at the moment :)

I've added the ecommerce and ec_worldpay module and added products but not sure how to assign the products to categories and struggling with the product layouts...

Alan, if the worldpay module works with ubercart I would rather use that because I had no problems adding products to categories with images and changing the product layouts etc...

I hope I'm not misunderstanding Dublin drupallers comments, however, Alan if the ubercart UC Worldpay module works for Ubercart in drupal 6 then please could you clarify which modules you used to get things working.

Thanks for all your help so far

Hi Dil
First up
1. Only use one shopping cart package at a time.
So disable all 'Ecommerce' modules, leaving just Ubercart modules.

2.
Lets stick to UC Worldpay module -leaving aside other issues.
What exactly is not working?
Can you get to /admin/store/settings/payment/edit/methods?
Can you see the Worldpay settings there?

Are you getting error messages?
How far does a transaction get when you try to checkout?

On item 2 in your original post

2) if anyone knows how a can test this module without incurring any costs or even better if someone can actually tell me their experince in setting this up?

The worldpay module cannot be tested fully on your own website without a test account from Worldpay.
This pretty much applies to any payment module, in my opinion.

Thanks Alan...

When I initially installed ubercart and the UC worldpay module I was not receiving any errors and could proceed through checkout and would reach the worldpay test site. Not having an account with them I received a few errors (I don't think they had anything to do with the uc_worldpay modules though)

When reading through drupal and other forums on how to set a test account up, I found a bunch of posts saying the UC Worldpay module didn't work with ubercart and drupal 6.x.x, so I posted this thread for clarification.

The reason I did not set up a test account, was that if it did not work I did not want to waste my friends cash in setting up the IMA with them. She has literally just decided to go ahead anyways and has started the process of setting the account up with Worldpay, which should be active in around 10 days and can start testing then.

I think it's obvious that this is my first drupal site. These posts are really helpful so thank you for taking the time to impart this knowledge!

Finally, these are the UC Worldpay and Ubercart modules I have downloaded, are they the correct ones to be using with Drupal 6?

- uc_worldpay-6.x-1.0-beta1.tar.gz
- ubercart-6.x-2.0-rc2.tar.gz
- token-6.x-1.11.tar.gz

Those module versions look fine.

Lets see how you get on when you get a test account.
Remember to enabled test mode in your Worldpay settings while you are testing.

Just to chime in and say I'm happily using this module on a couple of Ubercart 2.0 sites. Thanks Alan!
