I've now got my site up-and-running (thanks to all who have helped on these forums) and it's time I thought (!) about backing it up.

Can anyone tell me, or point me towards information on, how to back-up my Drupal site?

Also, I have a local test server with the same version of Drupal on it. Could I make a copy of the live site and move it to my test server to practice future developments on? And, if so, how would I do this?

If you still have questions after searching and reading, please be more specific.

I didn't see this module in the search results on first glance, so I'll mention it here.

Backup and Migrate is a handy and FAST tool for getting a snapshot of your database. I'm using it on all of my recent builds. It's also handy for creating Restore Points in a development environment. It doesn't back up your files, though, so you'll need another solution for that. For me, though, the database is more important, and complete filesystem backups don't need to happen as often.

Good point. It's not just a good module, it is in fact the highest rated module on drupalmodules.com: http://drupalmodules.com/top-rated.
