Hi,
The ability to open multiple IM consoles at the same time would be great.
I think it would work great together with the issue: #483146: Pop-Up layer

Yeah, it would be very cool, and I'm sure is in the cards for IM. There is someone who is working on this, but I haven't heard from her/him in a while. I'll try to get in touch and encourge using this issue list to post progress, patches, etc.
