question about roopletheme.com

Kit_Hally - June 7, 2009 - 11:23

ok i doubt that i am the only one that is wondering and or confused about this ?
But what the hack happened to : Bill Bostick / Roople / roopletheme.com ?
it seems that it and he are gone ?
site is down to now for some time

i am one of those people who really likes roopletheme etc. and i did love there site as it was at first
(all people where really involved )
im using bealestreet and i am sure that like others that are using rooplethemes or a module of them
are not sure what to do now?
if there is no more development then what?
switch to something else?

im font of dark themes (in combination with green or orange etc. ) there are not that many dark themes out here and sure not many who have lots of options etc already included.

as you can see im puzzled ?

all of this came without warning and out of the blue

i keep finding it strange does, any one know more about all of this?

Hmm.... the site was up when

I also accessed it at about

I also accessed it at about 13:30 GMT.
One thing however, is that support from the theme script writers is not what it used to be.
I also like their themes & have used LiteJazz & currently Tapestry.
There's one administrator who used to be very nice if one had a question, but these days if you are lucky to get a response at all, there is some guy who is very often quite rude & mostly finds questions stupid or something else in that direction.

I think the lack of committed support has also discouraged normal users from turning up, unfortunately among whom are those who could also help other users. That is my theory about the changes there.

There are however considerably more themes than when I first saw Roople themes about 2 years ago, that offer several regions above main content and below it, if you take the time to look under Drupal 6 versions. I went through them a few months ago, though & found a couple with relatively similar options.

The other thing is try to look at the Roopletheme forums & try to contact some "knowledgeable" contributors & directly request for help.

I personally gave up on asking for support & try to find my own solutions, where I can. Regarding fonts/colors, etc, with some knowledge of CSS & using the firebug Firefox add-on, you can locate & customize the appearance of the different regions.

hi lionhearth

Hi!

I can access the website without any issues (20:15 GMT). I run Firefox 3 on Ubuntu 8.10...

The site seems pretty cool, haven't heard of it before (maybe because I'm new to Drupal).
Thanks for a good bookmark :)

your welcome
