Get up to date with current apachesolr code

Since I haven't really participated in the development of the apachesolr module for several months now, I'll have to catch up on all major (more or less) recent changes, to the module and to the SolrPhpClient code.
Especially, since this is particularly relevant to my project, I should look at how indexing works, which I haven't inspected closely until now.
