Track click through rates and automatically re-direct to a different page

Hi

I have been asked to track click through rates for various campaigns our company is running. I have google analytics installed but have been asked to provide a different way of tracking visits as Google analytics did not seem to provide the correct statistics last time we ran these campaigns.

What we have is a banner on 3 separate external websites. We want these banners to send visitors to our homepage but I have been asked by my marketing department to set up a different landing page (that will automatically redirect to our homepage) for each campaign so we can track hits to each page and can accurately see how successful each campaign has been.

e.g. Banner 1 on external website will link to www.ourcompany.com/campaign1 which will then seemlessly re-direct to www.ourcompany.com

So basically i have 2 question:

1) Is this the correct way to go about monitoring the hits from the various campaigns?
2) If so how do I automatically forward vistors from the landing page to the homepage?

Many thanks
