Node access on creation of nodes

I'd really love to see the ability to edit access to roles on the creation of roles.
In my specific case I have a nodetype that should be restricted to different roles based
on what the node contains. As it is now, I have to go to grants after each node is created
and change the access there. For ease of use, this would be much easier if this could be
done on the node creation page.
