Signup and CCK integration

I've posted a feature request with the Signup module, but since I can't find much record of others requesting this, I may be looking to sponsor the work (as in, hire a developer).
I have a client that is using CCK with a Date field - though I'm not sure the type of field should be restricted. When inputting a training event, the client can specify multiple dates by adding additional field values, but the end user is only picking one of those dates; so, what I need is a way to pass the CCK values to the Signup form, as in a dropdown menu.
I'm a bit surprised this isn't more of a common request, as I can see additional uses. Either way, I'd like the option of contributing the end result back to the community.
Please let me know if there are questions or clarifications needed before submitting a bid.
