Anybody knows where in the waffle theme I can remove the "Powered by Drupal, an open source content management system." on the bottom next to the logo/link of !EARTH? I haven´t been able to find it anywhere.

If you do not want to identify yourself with the community, You are on your own.
I suppose it is as simple as that.

Even if you are developing a site for a client, how much does the client make out of the sentence? Further, at some point of time you need to pass on the routine postings on the site your client.

Open template.php and remove:

$vars['closure'] .= '<div id="legal-notice">Powered by <strong>Drupal</strong>, an open source content management system. <a href="http://www.iearth.ru">iEarth</a></div>';

Concerning profjk, I understand your reaction and it is not that I do not want to be a part of the community. This option is given in the standard themes why I was looking for it here as well. I hope I did not hurt anybody´s feelings.
