When creating a specific content type, I would to like to give my users and option to hide their identity. For example, if a user is a going to be posting a specific content type (let say for example: blog_rumor), and he doesn't want other to know that he is the one that posted it, he can just check off, "hide my identity."

I only want this to work for a specfic content type.

I tested out the Author Aliases module, it doesn't really do what I want it to do. Is there an alternative?

The only other module I know of is http://drupal.org/project/anonymous_publishing which doesn't have a d6 version.

You might check the module's issue queue-- iirc there was an issue at one point for a d6 version.
