Here's a patch which takes an initial stab at a d6 upgrade. This is working for my use cases, could probably still use a bit more love though. Particularly using drupal_write_record for inserts.

I also cleaned up the messaging a bit.

I know this doesn't help anyone for D6 but for D7 I am still open to the idea of merging this module with userpoints_ubercart ref discussions here http://drupal.org/node/984868
