I'd like to request a d.o db dump so that some doc team members can work on documentation tasks and trials off the main site. Ideally I'd like:
1. to get an db dump so that we can look at various stats and come up with reports to run and some local poking/breaking. The dump would be given to me and I would only hand it out (or parts of it) to people working on specific things with me that would require that. An example would be working on stuff like #486774: User Activity Log Info
2. a copy of the site up, similar to scratch.d.o, but specifically for handbook work with limited access for who can edit. I know there has been discussion of this in the past, but nothing ever materialized AFAIK.
I know we sanitize dumps for work. Not sure what gets stripped but I'm assuming just the main personally identifying stuff.

damien tournoud commented(1) Is not hard to do, and probably makes a lot of sense.
About (2), which code would this staging site run? Isn't scratch enough?

add1sun commentedHm, re: 2 and scratch I guess there are two things that come to mind:
a. that data is quite old now. I'd like to have a more recent version of the handbooks.
b. perms. I'm not sure what the perms on scratch are but I definitely would want to have limited access to who can change things in the handbooks.
c. ideally I'd like to try out new modules or custom code and I'm not sure if that is cool on scratch, especially as we may break crap on a regular basis - who knows.
I figured that we want to keep the handbook experiments off of scratch and ideally I'd like to have more control over the handbook sandbox site than I might be given over scratch. I'm definitely open to using scratch though, if that seems like the best idea. I'm also open to other suggestions for a handbook sandbox.

add1sun commentedLet's scrap #2 for now, since I'll be moving for a new subsite soon anyway. I still do really need a dump though so we can work on some other things in the meantime. What do I need to do to get a d.o dump?

drummSorry this didn't get answered. We have a new program for dev sites, http://drupal.org/node/1018084. Please use that if still interested.
