The authenticated user cannot clear best reply
marked as "best reply" by him.

There is Access denied page.
If this is what is meant to happen he should not see
"Clear best reply" once a comment has been marked so.

Details of installation -

Default fresh installation of Drupal 6.12
with no extra modules

Only bestreply [6.x-6.4] used.
Permissions set.

Best reply settings :
Clone and Move to top: Yes
Collapse reply: No

Comment settings:
Flat expanded and Date - oldest first

Hi Ronia,
Check that authenticated users have moderate bestreply permission.
That way the will be able to clear the best reply.
Without that permission they should be able to mark another comment just not clear.

I will look into having the next version check for that permission before adding the Clear link.

they can clear any best reply even if he is not
author of that node.

Usually a node author should be the only person
to mark, clear, remark best reply of his node.
Example : Yahoo Answers or similar sites

I have reset the status to catch your attention
but if you are
busy please close again.

This is not something serious it seems.

Hi ronia,
In the 6.x-6.6 release I have added another permission 'clear bestreply'.

Authors with 'clear bestreply' can clear the bestreply comment from their node.

Users with 'moderate bestreply' permission can clear or makk any comments as best reply even if they aren't the author.
