Description
Applying this module to a CCK field, the varchar(XX) number was set to the maxlength and thus, truncated/deleted data from all existing fields. There's no recovering - and if a user enters the wrong number the first time??

can you explain what you did exact.
1. i did this.
2. i did that.
etc.
i tryed to detect your problems but couldn't reproduce your error.
currently the maxlength (the number) is not stored by the maxlength module, its the default which is provided by cck.
