I have been using Taxonomy successfully for the past few weeks, and finding it very easy to select the order I wanted terms to appear by simply moving them up or down the list as you can with the vocabularies. I know for a fact I was able to do this as I placed all the terms in a specific order, and when adding new ones, chose the positioning of these terms within the originals.

For some reason, on viewing the list now, having added further terms I am not able to alter the list order unless I go into the settings of each term and specify a weight for that term.

Has anyone else experienced this sudden change? Have I done something which has meant this option of dragging the handle has been disabled?

I assumed it could be related to a module I have installed since, but disabling them does not resolve the issue, and I am still able to drag the handle on the vocabularies list..

I have no idea why it would just stop being available as an option..please give me a shout if you know what I am doing wrong

Thanks

Haven't played with it enough to notice the issue you describe. I do know that all of those drag-and-drop features use javascript. If it isn't available, Drupal degrades to the manual method you mention.

That sounds like a possible reason..what could cause javascript to stop though.. also if that is the case it seems odd that it is still present and working fine one page up on the vocabularies. Somewhat confusing

I have tried changing to various other themes in case it was theme related. This has proved unsuccessful also.

I would love to hear if anyone else has had similar issues as I would like to get this sorted quite urgently

Thanks

I had it set to 'tags' in the vocabulary settings which is why the terms were non editable. I hadn't been aware of this visually because I have been using Content Taxonomy to display the various taxonomy fields.

I have exactly the same problem but did not understand how you fixed it.
