Not sure if it happens with other plugins, but for Last.fm "Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions," for example, shows up as "Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions."

This problem seems to come from activitystream_feed, the sub-module that provides generic RSS feed integration. The attached patch fixes the ampersand behavior for this module, by extension it should fix it for other RSS-based provider modules.
Patch needs to be applied from within the activitystream_feed directory.
