Galleria node "display kind" strange behavior

It seems to me that only the display type 'galleria' "works".
It is the only one that display an image with the other images as thumbnails under it, that I can click to switch images.
If I chose "galleria_full_size_image", I have an ugly page list of the full size images that does not have much to do with a "galleria".

Is that intended ?

My images are uploaded in a file_field and NOT created as standalone nodes (I hate polluting the namespace with content :) )
