Upgrade to 6.12 now missings lots of settings for some modules, very strange! - Screenshot attached

niallhatton - June 13, 2009 - 23:13

Hello,

Few weeks ago I upgraded my site to 6.12 as I was having trouble with Ubercart and hoped it might help my problem....which it did fix!!! Great......or not. Now I have even bigger issues.

When creating all of the different content types I use (Page used in screenshot) All my options for the modules involved on that page are gone. I get the headings but nothing else (See Screenshot)

I dont have a clue where to start on this issue. Im seriously thinking of reverting back to my backup but idealy I wanna fix this issue.

Please please help me if you have any idea what could of caused this. Ive searched a fair amount on here and google with no luck as I im not even sure whats the best thing to search for!!

Kind Regards

Niall

after looking at that screenshot, im wondering what you think you are missing?

you state "options for modules" ? what options ? what modules ?

from what version did you upgrade?
are you sure you ran update.php after upgrading?
are you sure your file and folder structure is correct?
are you sure you don't have two modules folders? (contrib should be in sites/all/modules and core in your drupal root modules folder?

Well say for instance i

niallhatton - June 13, 2009 - 23:31

Well say for instance i wanted to add this page to the Primary Nav menu, or change the input format to PHP.

At the bottom above Save Preview there is publishing options, before I could chose to have at top of page or, unpublished. Now all I have is the heading "Publishing options"

Hope thats a bit more clear :)

Kind Regards
Niall

niallhatton - June 13, 2009 - 23:42

When trying to get support from forums it is important that you answer questions you've been asked.
I asked 5 questions, you've managed to answer 2. Helping us, help you is the only way to get problems solved.

please answer the below

are you sure you ran update.php after upgrading?
are you sure your file and folder structure is correct?
are you sure you don't have two modules folders? (contrib should be in sites/all/modules and core in your drupal root modules folder?

If you kept a backup of your database, maybe you should revert back to the oringal site using your backups and try again.

I thought I had answered them

niallhatton - June 14, 2009 - 00:12

I thought I had answered them all I do apolgise.

Yes I did run the update.php after upgrading.

Im not sure if my file folder structure is correct, but it is the same as what I had before which worked fine.

I have only put modules in the drupal root modules folder, that includes contrib, which also worked fine.

I will move the modules to the correct folders, and if all else fails revert to backup and try again.

Thanks for your continued help

niallhatton - June 14, 2009 - 14:05

first thing I'd do is ensure that the /misc/ folder contains everything it is supposed to contain
next I'd investigate my jquery_update.module to ensure that it is up to date

I'd ensure that I clear my browser cache and database cache tables

That is a seriously long

-Anti- - June 14, 2009 - 15:45

That is a seriously long modules list!

Out of interest, what kind of hosting account do you have for that site?
Want to share the url?

Yeah course no prob The host

niallhatton - June 14, 2009 - 16:55

Yeah course no prob

The host im using to build this site on is justhost.com

Im aware thats a long list of modules, but was under the impression drupal is up to the task of handling as many as your PHP memory will handle. I will try your suggestions VeryMisunderstood :)

The amount of SQL queries figures into it too, I think.

So how much memory have you been allocated?
I've got a VPS with 384MB RAM and I'm still worried about memory.

I think ive set 256mb, I will

niallhatton - June 15, 2009 - 19:01

I think ive set 256mb, I will move to a VPS if it becomes a problem but since im still developing it at the moment its ok. Ive not had a white screen yet (touch wood)

This is my first drupal site, so im not definatly not claiming to know if it can handle it or not :P

Who have you gone with if you dont mind me asking?

> Who have you gone with if you dont mind me asking?

I was looking for:

· Fully-managed server with excellent support
· WHM/Cpanel backend
· European location
· @300€

www.eukhost.com fit all those criteria. They provide one the cheapest
fully-managed servers I found (216€ pa) *but also* had the best support
out of the hosts I questioned. I've used them for a couple of months and
have had a great experience so far.

Yeah sure as said in

niallhatton - July 1, 2009 - 10:19

Yeah sure as said in previous, JustHost.com. Will see how they are for now and might change if performance requires it.

Just for info:-

As for my original problem, it was a JQuery problem. I reverted to previous backup and DB, upgraded from 6.10 > 6.12 again, and finally upgraded the JQuery module.

All is working fine, Big thanks to those who helped out!

Kind Regards
Niall

If the fieldsets don't collapse

grabur - July 1, 2009 - 10:50

It's probably a javascript issue.

Try disabling the stylesheet. At least then you know your site is working.

Check in a different browser. Or flush cache of browser.

Flush drupal's cache.

Then check jquery.
