I have some technical questions about creating subdomains.
Basically i have one website setup using drupal. If i then create a subdomain for that site such as test.example.com/ and use the same ftp account as the example.com, where will go to upload the files? Also since i am using the same ftp account as main domain, i assume i will be using the same database.

Lastly i would like to know if i want this newly created subdomain to be present in a another url so if a user types in their site URL, it should go to to subdomain site. I know this could be done through redirectioin but even after redirection, the users site must be in URL and not the subdomain. I have seen a few modules but not sure where to start from.

Please look up http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=301+redirect+cpanel&meta=&aq=5&oq...

However, I am also interested in a solution for "after redirection, the users site must be in URL and not the subdomain."
Good luck

Your best off asking your web host. However, if you're using cPanel. You can log in with your main FTP account, browse to the folder of the sub domain that you created within cPanel and then upload the files there.
