I have 6.x-1.0-alpha4 and image assist on D6.12. I have uploaded some images but had the problem that some were not displaying in image nodes. Some images seemed to have a problem with RGB PNG files, and changing these to Indexed PNG files solved that problem.

I am now have a handful of problem images nodes that refuse to display the image. I have tried using JPG/GIF/PNG to no avail. Its not a .htaccess problem because most files in the sites/default/files/images display.

I also have an image node where the image and thumbnail display, but the image refuses to show up inline in another node. Strangely, if I enter the URL for the image and thumbnail in the browser, the image is displayed correctly. In the story node the same image (that does display if I enter the URL for the image only) even refuses to display if I change to full HTML format and include the line <img src="/system/files/images/filename.png" style="float: right; alt="map" height="100"" />.

Any suggestions please?

I am now on D6.13 and Image 6.x-1.0-alpha4. I still have the problem that randomly images do not display in their image nodes and/or when attached to other nodes as image attach. I have even found that if I re-upload the same image that I get a different outcome. Can someone help me with this please?

I've seen another issue reporting this problem and I'm afraid we didn't figure it out there either :(

Are you using private file downloads? That might be something to investigate.

Most probably, this can only be properly handled in D7.
