FlashVideo module modification needed
originalgravitymedia - June 15, 2009 - 13:45
I'm looking for someone who can modify the FlashVideo module to work with the core Profile module. Basically I want users to be able to upload a video via their "edit" profile page, without having to create a node or otherwise leave their profile page. i know that this is likely possible via Content Profile etc, but I am specifically looking for FlashVideo to be used on the profile pages, in a seamless experience for site users.
Looking for hard estimates on time this would take and cost -- preferred completion date would be june 26...

You can just follow the
You can just follow the installation instructions for advanced_profile which integrates with content_profile and panels. Then you'll be able to enable flashvideo for cck and have the whole lot up and running in about an hour.

thanks for the reply, but i'm hoping for something a little more straightforward.
i've had a hard time figuring out content_profile, which is why i specifically am looking for someone to do this without that.
and the advanced profile for drupal 6 is still in alpha, and this doesn't lead me to believe that I, a non-advanced user, would have very good luck setting this up:
"It works ok but takes a lot of work to set up. If you want to try and use it, is vital that you read the release notes as well as the readme included. (The handbook docs have not been updated, yet.) I don't recommend using it in production, yet, but very experienced users can probably get away with it."
Well luckily for you
Well luckily for you content_profile was updated last night so you don't need to make any alterations to it anymore to make it Panels 3 compliant. Just install everything according to the instructions (and all that really means is that there aren't any HARD dependencies, but install everything listed anyway - the only place where you may slip up is that you'll need the dev version of author_pane - everything else is 'as-it-comes' though).
Give it a go? What have you got to lose? It's probably taken me longer to write this post than it'll take you to download and enable everything.
