What will be the content of node 50,000?
What time will node 50,000 be published?
Unless there is intervention by a site admin, my prediction is that we will reach 50,000 nodes by March 20th and that the 50,000th node will be a forum entry in the "How Do I" forum.

I think it will happen this week. There have been something like 200-300 nodes created in the last day. Maybe you meant February 20th? I think the 16th or the 17th would be better bets.
"best fit" might not be worth much
I was basing it on a best fit curve which apparently wasn't that useful.

curious... how much disk space do these ca. 50000 nodes require?

And we're quickly approaching comment 100,000. I predict this will occur around the same time and place as node 50,000.
Having comment 100,000 actually posted to node 50,000 would be like the planets falling into alignment. The day that happens I'm buying a lottery ticket.

I predict node 50.000 will be a forum post with a title similar to
URGETN DURPAL PROBLEM!!!!!!!!
containing the symptom 'doesn't work' without much furthur information.
Since the resident psychic is on holliday, the node will go without answer for a few minutes (possibly hours) after which comment 100,000 is posted by the author of node 50,000:
HELLLOOO??? HEEEEEEEEELP WANTED!!!!!!!!!! URGENT!!!!!
