I just wanted to point out a small little quickie(relatively) site done in Drupal 6 that is following the events surrounding the recent National election in Iran.
Its gathering news and video from different sources and consolidating it in one place. The bandwidth is kept low by using embed_media fields to bring in the video from YouTube. Announcements of new posts go out to Twitter via the Twitter module. And video submissions are moderated via the modr8 module

Spam filter won't let me send a news URL via the contact form
Looks like a cool site, and a great use of Drupal for something important. However, I've tried submitting a news article for consideration, and no matter what I did, it kept telling me that my submission was blocked by the spam filter and not accepted. I even registered an account on the site but that'd didn't help. ;) Here's what I tried to send:
Subject: News article: "Iran Boils Over"
Message:
"Lee Sustar looks at the dynamics driving mass protests and repression in Iran following the rigged presidential election..."
http://socialistworker.org/2009/06/15/iran-boils-over
Hope you include it in your list, it's a great analysis.

Also, nice work putting together a site like this. I always love to see Drupal used for important good work like this. Glad I happened to notice this in the drupal.org forums.
Thanks!

Thought you might want to look into your spam filter issues, or at least update the FAQ or something.
Cheers,
-Derek
p.s. FYI: http://socialistworker.org is another Drupal site. ;)

Thanks for the heads-up
Thanks for the heads-up Derek(dww) on the SPAM blockage. Have you done something to upset Dries? I'm using Mollom for my SPAM analysis ;-) It's set to block if unhappy/unresponsive, so I must have screwed up a setting someplace. I'll have to check it after a bit of sleep. If its not a quick fix, I'll finish setting things up to let people directly enter their submissions, and moderate before making public like I do with the videos.
That gives me two things to fix. For some reason Calais is also giving me a problem. I got it to work on another site Http://CongressionalResearchReports.com but its giving me problems on this one. I should have stayed with the older version of the RDF modules so I could have just copied the folder from the older site. But I want the assisted TAG'ing, so dig I will. If it keeps giving me problems, maybe I'll check out QueryPath http://drupal.org/project/qpservices It look promising also.
Just did a quick look at the SPAM/Mollom log and caught a few things. All three servers looked like they were down(not responding) at 18:00 today, but that is nowhere near your submission. This is probably unrelated since your submission mentioned the problem was declared HAM, but I had a typo in my email address for the WebMaster entry(the other two were OK). I fixed that and dig more in the AM.
