Description

Hi,

I just tested an installation of Node Access (default permissions, Anonymous has the permission to access nodes and was previously able to view content) and Menu Access (same here).

After the installation the anonymous user was forbidden to access any nodes and view any menus. I deinstalled (removed and deinstalled) Menu Access - nothing changed. I deinstalled (removed and deinstalled) Node Access - nothing changed.
I have already cleared all cache_* tables (manually).

How could I get "read access" back to the anonymous user?

I'm using Drupal 6.12 with a couple of modules on a Linux-Server running Apache2 mit MySQL 5 and PHP 5.2.

Thanks :)

I fixed it myself by applying a backup I made before installing Node access - one of the menus had disappeared too.

I had a similar problem today, and I have the same server setup. I installed node_access and then discovered that about half of my pages were no longer accessible to anonymous visitors. The pages that were Views still worked, but those that were nodes only did not. This is a terrible state for the module to default to.

Same problem. Installed it to check it out and it noticed that while it was installed anonymous users dont have access to views and then when uninstalled all pages become unavailable to them.

Forgot to mention: File attachments aren't available for anyone with or with out the module enabled.

Jeremyr, I'm sorry but I have found no problem with using the file upload module for any content type..

Just to confirm:
1) You enabled the upload module.
2) You set permission for all roles that should be able to view and upload
3) You enabled file uploads for each content type.

Totally works just fine for me on my test server.

Assigned to myself to research the uninstall bug.

Okay, my mistake I was using two browsers to test this out: I was logged into FireFox as admin and in IE8 browsing anonymously. Turns out the uploaded file issue was not related to this module and was isolated to IE8 only.

However, there was still an uninstall issue not granting permission back to visitors. I reinstalled it and all is well.

Thanks for checking up on it though!
