I have a web site that has multiple forms within the site.

There is one form that is being abused by the spammers so I am trying to get Captcha to show on that form.

I succeeded on placing the captcha (image) on that form but when you submit the form, you do not need to have the captcha filled out - you can just bypass entering that information and submit the form.

I have the 'Add CAPTCHA administration links to forms' box checked int he administrator and this is how I have added the captcha to the form.

Just to verify as well - I also have user with a uid of '0' in the database since I know that captcha uses sessions to work properly.

What else could be missing or wrong as to why the captcha is not being applied?

I don't have direct experience with the captcha module.... but have you tried using Mollom? It's like captcha with more brains and has worked flawlessly for me since I installed it last year.
