This is a catch all request for a discussion betweeen Act Now, Trellon & CivicSpace GoJoinGo developers about how to improve event functionality for end users.. I will use this issue to track spec ideas.. Our goal is to change the GoJoinGo core to simplify event planning and rsvp'ng.
Here are requests/suggestions from Ironweed Beta Testers and Staff members
1) Allow admins the ability to remove or hide event cost or explain this better
2) Allow users to attach images to event and display image under or around (wrap) event description (should be easy)
3) Alllow admins the ability to define basic event types with default images (movie screening, political rally, etc.. - The Admins for each company can
define their own..)
4) Allow admins the ability to remove or hide venue system and just use location module. If venue is hidden in the form as an advanced option,
make it so that submitting a venue is not a mandatory action to create an event.

webchickHere are some additional comments from the Goodstorm camp:
-----------
When I enter a venue name, and it autofills (which I have not had happen yet),
the location fields below (name, address, city, state, zip, etc) should
autofill with the venue info.
Similarly, if I enter a venue, and the location info autofills, and I change
the location info, the venue field should depopulate.
Which brings the last point, which is, there should be a checkbox under the
location fields. If any of the location fields are showing, there should be a
checkbox that says "Add this location as a venue (you will be taken to the Add
Venue screen after submitting this form)." This checkbox should be grayed out
if the Venue AJAX field is populated with an existing venue.

webchickAnd another
----
I do Create->Event
No venue comes up when I type in letters, so I "click here" to add a new
I fill out the new venue
I hit submit
I expect to be taken back to the add event page, partially filled out, and
instead I am taken to the confirm of the add venue
Even after all this, the venue does not show up, so I gave up.

sdemps3 commentedSome additional spec requests / ideas
- After submitting an event or during the event submission process, you should be able to enter email addresses for the people who you want to invite to the event. If wizard style is not possible, we'd like to attach the invitation module or system to the event gjg node and make this the last step you do before submitting or publishing the event. You should be able to go back and edit the event later to update invitations or go to an invitation screen.
- Current invitation system does not work correctly. It invites you to join the group, but not rsvp for the event. The invitation should just be an email with a hyperlink back to the event page where the user can rsvp for the event. If the email could actually output the event description, the name of the organizer, etc.. this would be idea. Act Now can offer to design the HTML template for what the event invitation looks like
- For RSVP'ng, the feature needs to be more prevalent on the page.. It is difficult to find.. It should be listed directly under location and the function should be outputted to the page.. I should not have to click a link and be taken to a new page.
-- RSVP: There should be a maybe option
-- RSVP: It should allow for comments
