Thanks but my aim is to replace the Print Friendly Version link with a static menu button and that is why I need some code for the button link

It really helps if you include that kind of info in your original request-- just take the code from the print module then.

Thanks again. my php is rudimentary and it kinda looks quite busy inside the print module file. can you tell me what bit of code that I need just to diplay the link in a block ? Thanks

I'm not sure I understand-- you are using the print module and just need to copy the link? Or you're not using the print module and want to replicate that functionality?
