It would be very useful if the custom fields options in the user profile module could include an image upload field (Simular to the one in Flexinode)

Using this multiple images could be added to a users profile. This would be very useful for community applications dating and art websites e,t,c.

Unfourtunately I have no idea how to go about porgramming this, anyone got any ideas?

    I am currently working on an expanded profile module, that will allow the addition of new profile field types via add-on modules (similar to how flexinode works).

    Currently, you have to dig through the profile module code, and in several places, add lines that enable different content types to be handled. I assume that part of the reason for this is to make the profile.module faster.

    My big hurdle, actually, is that what I know about CMS and such would not fill a thimble. But I plan to make the alternate module available soon.

    I believe if you search around here, though, that you'll probably find info on how to add functionality like this to profile.module.

    Sounds very good. Any progress yet? I'm quite interested and I wonder if it's worth to wait for a couple of days or to start hacking myself.

    Did you manage to make any sense of the profile.module code?

    I might have a fiddle with it. Any one got any good starting points for add the extra image field option?

    I would like to know how to do this too. I've always wanted a 'personal photo' in addition to an 'avatar' in the user profiles.

    That what would be needed is twofold:

    1) The ability to store more than one picture per user (this should not be too difficult)
    2) The addition of radio buttons to select the picture that is currently being used.

    Some way of having a dropdown for selecting which picture to tag a post with would be cool too.

    Too bad I'm just starting out with all of this stuff. otherwise I'd be more help.
