I saw in a different thread about this flat forum module. Looked pretty good and I was pretty impressed with a few of the demos I saw for it. It looks a lot like something I want it to look like. So I follow the instructions and install it to my test site. Only it doesn't work.

I have done everything exactly as the installation states. Everything looks good, but the flatforum module doesn't kick in. I use the chameleon/marvin theme if that has anything to do with it. I have added the flatforum css to all of my style sheets just to make sure. The drupal.css, common.css and the style.css. I have enabled the module and created forums and everything. Nothing shows up...still looks like the ugly Drupal forums. (sorry, but the default forums look and act awful, I really don't like these forums too much *shrugs*).

Anyone know what else I can do? When you have to import the flatforum.mysql to your drupal sql database...do you have to do it through a command line or can I import it through an older version of phpmyadmin? Would that have anything to do with it? I don't have command line access to my sql database.

I updated the flatforum description. Thanks for the heads up that we missed to note that you need a phptemplate based theme for it. Oh, and the module is optional, the magic is in template.php and .tpl.php files.

That explains it. Thank you much. I was really confused as to why that wasn't working the way I hoped.

Is there any benefits to the phptemplate based theme over the others? Say...the marvin theme that I like. It's just so simple and basic and easy to work with and mod how I want it *shrugs*.

I´m using the Internet Jobs theme, and it´s not working...
I´ve followed all steps... and nothing happened.
I´ve checked it with other themes and it does work... so I think the problem is of the theme itself... is there anything that I can do about it?
