Dear Drupal friends,

Searching unicode text gives
no result in Drupal
while it works
in Joomla, Wordpress

There were posts on this but no solution

Can this be promoted
as a front page article so that
it attracts solution ?
So that majority
non-english unicode users
are helped.

Can dear book writers
kindly write a book on
effective search in Drupal
with unicode solution?

Hmmm... I just tested it with Japanese in drupal 6.12 and search worked as expected. Sorry I can't help w/o more info. Odds are good if you stick with the problem, you'll solve it, and your solution will be posted here for other users in the future.

Have you set up your cron task and make sure it's running? That's when indexing is done. (admin/reports/status). Any content that has not been indexed will not show up in search.
