I would like to be able to provide registered users with an option to sell an item when they submit a new image.

I would like for this option to be on the submit image form where they can specify price, and payment details if they choose this option.

It would also be helpful if you could help with info on what payment method is best, i.e. to charge them a fee for the sale (% of sale/flat rate) and how the user is paid for the sale.

I would also like to know if ubercart will automatically will inform the user of the sale and the payment to them.

I have downloaded Ubercart but need to know where to go from there.

I would start with the rather extensive ubercart documentation and resources available at ubercart.org.

I will have a look at ubercart further as a starting point - also just found ubercart marketplace which may offer a solution.

Any other help appreciated.
