It seems the permissions for the user contact have been modified and regardless of the "Personal contact form" checkbox one receives "Access Denied" errors. Also the Contact tab is removed from the account page.

The user has probably disabled their contact form. I can still access your contact form since you probably still have it enabled. Same with mine.

Sorry for the trouble. The access of the "contact form" when the user is himself isn't permitted.

I just received this email from the Drupal site:

Clicking on the link indicated (http://drupal.org/user/118575/contact) gets me an "access denied" message. If I cannot access this page, good usability dictates that the link shouldn't appear in the email. Instead, I would suggest a link to the message itself, if such a page exists (I can't find one) or failing that, no link at all.
