Issue Summary

Should we switch our layout to use 960 http://960.gs/ or would that be duplicating work at http://drupal.org/project/ninesixty?

What we would do is create a directory in clean/extra and provide a different layout.css. How about that?

#2

Shall we change the width to 960 as an interim step? 960 divides a lot more nicely than our current 910.
That would make it easier for users to add in something like http://www.1kbgrid.com/.

Yep, good idea.. but I also wanted to add 1kb grid as a layout.css in the extra folder. Probably needs it's own page.tpl.php too.

Title:960 dude!» Integrate with 960gs and 1kb grid.

I committed the change to 960px width. I also followed the 10px margin on each side of the columns to match 960gs.

Demo here: http://clean.freestylesystems.co.uk/

Changed title to reflect new focus.

Width still seems to be 940px.

Now we have the grid I'm less sure of full integration. I wanted to make something fairly simple with the imagefields in a view, and using the 960 framework for that ended up being more trouble than it was worth. 960 is good to prototype with, and for simple designs, but when child elements need to go on the grid you need to do the rules yourself.

960gs works by giving a 940px content width with 10px margins at either side of each column.

I need full 960gs integration for an upcoming project so I'll add it over the next few days.

I have added a 960gs sub-theme now. Seems to work fine. Please could some people test this?

#8

I just added a 1kb CSS Grid sub-theme too. Happy New Year!
