Is this possible - 2-way integration with yahoo/google groups, mailing list

Hi,

I am wondering if its possible to two-way integrate drupal with google/yahoo groups (and may be mailing lists). With 2-way integration I mean is, if a message is posted in group (yahoo or google) it should be created in drupal site as well. When user posts reply/topic/node in drupal site, it should be posted to yahoo/google group.

I see there is module listhandler, but not sure what exactly it does.

Thanks in advance

yahoo groups in drupal

Most Yahoo groups have RSS feeds if they are open to the public. You can use a feed to have Yahoo messages posted on your Drupal site as well. I don't think Yahoo allows the reverse, however.
Gettinging access to Yahoo mailing lists is like breaking into a bank. Good luck.

Yahoo Groups or other mailing list archiving

Found this post from a while back am adding to it in case anyone searches in the future.

One way to archive posts for a certain mailing list (yahoo, google, etc.) is just to add your own list archive as a member. Let's say you're using Yahoo Groups. You also have a list manager (let's say Mailman) at 'yourdomain.com'. Add your list manager's posting address to Yahoo's group. So for example, 'archive@yourdomain.com' posts to your Mailman list. Add archive@yourdomain.com as a member of Yahoo Group. Now every post to Yahoo will be sent also to your archive address. Now every message sent to Yahoo Groups will also be archived on your mailing list (Mailman).

The crux here is to get Mailman to then post to drupal's forum (or other node type). That I don't have the obvious answer to. In order to do that, it would seem that you'd have to have a link from your mail server into drupal. Has anyone done something like that? I know it shouldn't be difficult, depending on the mail server and how much control you may have over it with a web host.

this is a cool potential feature

this has possibilities to allow groups who have alot of history online to work more closely with a drupal site
