Table wizard module substitute for Drupal 5

Hello,

I am trying to use a user created table as the base table for the Views module. For doing this there is the Table Wizard module in Drupal 6. However, I am using Drupal 5, so is there anything I can do to replicate the Table Wizard module's functionality in Drupal 5. The bottomline is to expose a user created MySQL table to the views module so that I can add the columns from that table as fields into the view I am trying to create.
