How do I remove the register link from the login box? I want it so that I register members manually and have them login, but not have people register how do I do that?

Visit Administer › User management › User settings, look under 'Public registrations'.

nevets is right. You'll need to change the registration settings. Just removing the link isn't entirely secure, since anyone who knows what's going on can just go to /user/register directly.
