Description

Our site admin/editor should have the ability to choose the "style" of a block to display from the web interface.

I am familiar that I can edit the stylesheets for a particular block id/delta. But this goes against web admin of a site. I should be able to assign the same type changes to *any* block I choose from the block admin interface.

I do realize that this would require css changes to add more block "styles" at the least and/or template changes.

My particular pet peeves about this on drupal sites are the syndcate blocks and advertising blocks. The orange xml graphic looks terrible with all the other theme decorations.

Since blocks are not termed content ( I haven't delved into CCK enough yet though) it isn't straightforward if this is something the core developers feel that I should be able to add a form field on my local install, are against this for some other reason, or they just haven't "itched" enough to scratch.

If this is a duplicate I apologize. I did search and this request had a similar title but was requesting a different feature:

"Need more fine-grained control over block appearance settings needed" - http://drupal.org/node/24242

thanks,

Joe

Can be closed. There is now a Block Theme module - http://drupal.org/project/blocktheme
