Hi all,

I'm developing a destination portal for a ski hill in the Rockies, and besides offering online booking for local accommodation, I want to offer flights and create complete vacation packages.

The best way to do this seems to be by developing a group of modules that implement the Open Travel Alliance specification (www.opentravel.org), and tied in with the existing ecommerce modules. Site owners would need to find a content supplier that best fits their needs. These suppliers usually frontend the GDSs (Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldpan), as well as offering more competitive flights sourced from consolidators.

Is anyone out there interested in collaborating on this? The OTA spec is huge, but only a small subset needs to be implemented to be useful.

let me know what I can do to help.. I have a few mods that I have not released yet for travel sites and would love to start to make them 5.X modules and get the released.. But would like to see about making them a little more open as you mention here.

Hi,
I'm working on a quote for a client who wants a flight/hotel/car hire booking system, integrated with the Amadeus webservice. Did you guys ever do this? Can you give me any tips on how much work was required? And do you have a module which I could use with Drupal 7.x (a long shot given how old this post is, but if you do I'd be happy to provide for this in my quote so I could pay you).

I am planning to build a travel website - Asianventure Tours , using Drupal. Spent couple of days to browse the module list of Drupal but it was hard to find a module focusing on travel guide, tours, hotels, trains, flights.
I highly appreciate if someone can help me to find a suitable module.
