It would be great to have a way to synchronize Node Hierarchy with a Taxonomy vocabulary.
A usecase:
I have spots of interest ordered by geographical regions, e.g.
US > Florida > Alachua County > Gainesville > Spot 1
US > Florida > Alachua County > Gainesville > Spot 2
Node Hierarchy is perfect to maintain these relationships, create a menu entry, ...
Now anything should be "attachable" to this Hierarchy via taxonomy, e.g. a Story. From an enduser perspective (a random community member) to synchronize this Hierarchy with a vocabulary.
A UI for the admin that lets you decide which depth of the Hierarchy should be synchronized would also be cool.
Any concerns regarding performance?

derjochenmeyer commentedThis seems to be a lightweight option. NAT is only about 12kb:
#446308: Use Node Hierarchy parent when determining NAT Parent term.
However, maybe adding this directly to Node Hierarchy is easier to setup and maintain?
