i followed these steps:

Quick configuration in 10 steps

Path to configuration page.

   1. Navigate to Administer > Site configuration > Dynamic display block in the admin menu.

Add, configure and enable a dynamic display block.

   1. Type a unique block title in the block title field of the Add dynamic display block fieldset at the bottom of the screen.
   2. Click the Add block button.
   3. Click the Configure block link in the "Dynamic display block" fieldset of the dynamic display block you just made.
   4. Set the image folder to images/ddblock
   5. Click Save Block at the bottom of the page.
   6. Make the folder images/ddblock relative the Drupal file path. The Drupal file path is set at Administer > Site configuration > File system
   7. Add some pictures in this folder.
   8. Navigate to Administer > Site Building > Blocks in the admin menu.
   9. Find your block in the Disabled section near the bottom of the page. Select a region (e.g. Right sidebar) in the drop down box next to your block. This will move the block you just created to this region.
  10. Click the Save Blocks button.

I have been trying for 2 weeks to get a sideshow to work on my website, and i thought i had it with DDblock, however even when i followed all the steps and installed all the modules needed, the admin menu for the module does not show. I have DDblock enabled in my admin/modules menu and all the dependencies are there and enabled. Anyone else having this issue? can anyone guess a cause or a solution? Im stumped. By all means and testing ive done, it should be working, i can not find a place where it is broken.

All help is much appreciated,
Rnolette

If you enable the dynamic display block module in the modules page, the configuration page of the module should be available at Administer > Site Configuration > Dynamic display block. At least if you are logged in as user 1. If you are not logged in as user 1, it depends on the permissions settings, e.g. permission to administer blocks.

Are you logged in as user 1?

Hope this helps you further, please let me know.

I have the same problem: Go to Administer > Site configuration ... but no sign of dynamic display block.
Checked and all modules there. Logged in as user 1. All permissions also set. Using ddblock version 6.x-1.0-rc6, drupal 6.19.
Has anyone else encountered this? Any help very much appreciated.
Oliver

Maybe something went wrong while uploading, installing the ddblock module.

Could you disable the ddblock module, then uninstall it via the drupal interface and delete it from the server.
Then download it again from drupal.org, upload it again and re-enable it.

Hope this is the quickest way to solve it.

Thanks! Removed and re-uploaded ddblock - now working fine.
