Is there a way to get drop down menus to work with this?

The Nice menus module is always a good place to start for drop-down menus. However 960 Robots does not include styling for Nice Menus, which would be necessary to get it working properly.
I started working on a patch to provide this natively 960 Robots, but the CSS styling was going to get a bit more extensive than I'd hoped. Here's what I have so far, at least it should guide you along the path of what needs to be done to get it working.

Hmmm...
Inserted my styled nice menu block with this patch and... it looks totally destroyed.
What exactly I have to tweak to make my menu working properly?
I like this theme very much and already have changed a lot but if I can't get this to work with nice menu I have to look out for a theme that works with it :-(

No response from maintainer after more than 15 weeks.
Discarded this theme now and installed acquia prosper instead.
