I have installed Submitted By module, and added some date tokens. The date will not change on any new node creation that uses Sumitted By module. Content types that do not use Submitted By module display the appropriate date with the default submitted by text.

Could this be a Token issue?

I will need some more information. This is not happening on my site, nor have any of the other 300 users reported this.

What kind of content? What version of Drupal and Submitted by? What theme? What tokens are you using?

Drupal Version: 6.12

Submitted By Version: 6.x-1.2

Theme: Garland

Content Type: Story

Tokens: [mon] [date] [yyyy]

Also, this is not a live site, and only on the production server. Today I got the error about chron needing to be run. I ran chron manually, and noticed that the submitted by date for new content updated to July 2 (previously June 5, not sure if that has anything to do with running chron or happened by some other process, but thought it was notable). Anyhow today is actually July 7 so changing the date to July 2 is closer than the June 5 but still not accurate. Drupal shows the appropriate date and time in the date and time administration page (or if I don't use the "submitted by" module.

I will check again tomorrow to see if new content continues to post at July 2.

If you can't set up cron to run regularly, you might want to look into Poormanscron. Cron can be very important to Drupal and not running it can result in strange things happening.

With those tokens, it should be based on the date the node was created, and that doesn't change. New content should be picking up the date from the server. If that is wrong, then either the server is wrong, or you have encountered some odd bug in the node module. This module (SB) doesn't have any part in creating that date, nor even formatting the tokens. All we do is place the token data where you want it. The token, itself, is created by the Token module.

Are other content types working correctly? Have you tried SB on another content type?

Yes, that is what I figured is the case. However, the date comes out correct if I don't use this module. Which is why I asked in the first post if it might be a token issue (ie. are the tokens picking up the wrong date from somewhere?).

I'm having this issue with every module I use "submitted by" on.

I'm pretty sure the server has the correct date, but I will doublecheck.
