I am using a panels page for my user profile pages (via Advanced Profile Kit). Because the path is user/% secondary menu links are not rendered. If I make the path static, eg: user/joe it works.

I'm not sure if this is a Panels issue or a Drupal menu system issue - either way it's very limiting.

Does anybody know of a workaround / fix?

Sorry, but Panels for D5 will not see any further fixes, since Panels for D6 simply advanced too much and no one cares for D5.
