Can't attach existing webform to a new event node

Using Drupal 6.12 and Webform 6.x-2.7 and Webform Associate 6.x.1.0-beta2.
I associated webforms with the Event content type.
I created a webform with 2 sample text fields. (standalone submission of the form works ok)
When I create a new Event, I don't get to choose to associate any existing webform.
It allows me to create new components - and thus another new form.
I'd like to reuse the webform to collect registration information for a monthly meeting.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought this was possible.
Should I see something like a drop-down selection of existing webforms?
Does it need Signup enabled? (I tried with and without)
Can anyone post a screenshot?
